Great question! SEER rating or SEER stands for: Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. In lamans terms its the efficiency rating of your AC system. The higher the SEER rating the more effiecient your system operates and the more money you can save on your energy bill.

If your system is 8-10 years old or older and NOT on an annual maintenance schedule then its time to begin considering a replacement, and why you ask? Most AC units come with a standard PARTS warranty of up to 10 years if it is registered. If your unit was not registered then most manufactures reduce the warranty to 5 years. What this means is that as each component begins to wear and tear the cost to repair with labor can be significant.
